Tropical Paradise

My mom is an excellent baker. I know, you’ll say that I say this because she’s my mom and I enjoy eating the cakes she bakes too much. But really, you have to taste her cakes and I’m sure you’ll agree with me. And don’t even think of contradicting my dad when it comes to my mom’s cakes because he’s one fierce fan of my mom’s and her cakes. He even bought her a new shining oven recently, and it wasn’t even her birthday. But I know what she wants now. That’s why I am going to buy her a new cake loaf pan so she can bake my favorite cake everyday!

I have been helping her bake cakes ever since I can remember. When I was little, I used to fuss around her in the kitchen waiting for her to finish pouring the batter into the pan so I can lick the leftover batter. She would tell me stories about how she did the same thing when she was little with her own mom in their kitchen table. I couldn’t help thinking that perhaps I would allow my future daughter to do the same thing with me. Oh I think I would love that.
