Having pets around the house is a pleasurable and painful experience. Pets bring a lot of joy and comfort to most pet lovers. However, you do have to bear with co-existing with them and like any other living thing you have to make the environment comfortable and viable for them as well. If your home has pets running freely about the house, it is sometimes unavoidable to keep them from entering some restricted areas of your home like the kitchen. What is more painful than having to clean up their mess that they leave on your kitchen floor? As a pet owner, you must adapt to the ways of your pets and find a cleaning solution in case your dog or cat does their dirty thing on your precious kitchen floor.

Cleaning up a tiled floor can be tedious but is much easier to do than with wooden kitchen floors. If you decide to keep pets in the house ceramic tiles, marble flooring or even smooth stone tiles are more appropriate as kitchen flooring ideas. Once your pet excretes on these types of flooring, all you need to do is put a cup of sand over it and scoop it out using a small garden shovel. Then with a strong detergent mixed with a little water, scrub the floor clean. Instead of using a powerful disinfectant (that the pet might accidentally lick off the floor) it is safer to use a little baking soda mixed with warm water to make that finishing clean off your floor.
